Lagniappe Lactation offers comprehensive lactation consulting services focused on empowering mothers with guilt-free support. Our services include an anatomy assessment of mother's breasts and nipples to identify any barriers to effective breastfeeding as well as infections, pain or damage. Curious or concerned about how much milk your baby is getting from the breasts? Included in this service is a milk transfer evaluation done by obtaining pre-feeding and post-feeding weights of the baby. A scale accurate to +/-2gm is used. An oral and latch assessment is completed. We assist in identifying and addressing tongue ties by performing an oral exam and latch assessment to optimize breastfeeding success for you and your baby. Throughout the consult, guidance for proper positioning and holding is given to optimize you and your baby's comfort for a more enjoyable breastfeeding experience.
